Reservation Process

How many people can stay in a room? How do I ensure I have space for my child when booking a room?

The hotels featured on our service have varying room occupancies for their rooms. In general, each room requires a minimum of 1 adult and up to 2 adults and 2 children per room OR 4 adults (depending on the hotel). 

To ensure you are able to book a hotel/room with the occupancy that you require, you can specify the number of rooms and number of occupants before you begin a search.

  1. Using the entry fields provided at the homepage/search results, enter your desired destination and check-in and check-out dates.
  2. You can then enter the number of rooms you required
  3. You can also enter the number of adults and children for each rooms
  4. Once you have entered this information, you can begin your search and our service will return hotel/room results that have occupancy that match your requirements.

Can I make a same-day booking (e.g. for tonight) on your website?

Yes, you can. However, this will be subject to availability of rooms and any terms and conditions of the property. Do note to enter your credit card details accurately when making such bookings as we might not be able to contact you in time if there are errors, which may result in an incomplete booking.

I would like to make a special request (e.g. non-smoking room, high floor, connecting rooms), how do I let the hotel know about this?

For special requests, you can enter these in the Additional Requirements box during the booking process. Once you have received your booking confirmation, you can follow up with the hotel directly to confirm that your request can be met.

Can I book a hotel for day use?

Unfortunately, booking hotels for day use is currently unavailable. Hotels featured on BlackBook only offer night stay bookings through our platform.

What is the maximum number of rooms I can book in a single hotel?

The maximum number of rooms that can be booked at once is 4. 

This is due to a requirement from our hotel suppliers that prevents group bookings from being made via our service.



After I’ve completed a hotel booking, I was asked if I wanted to create a new trip or add the booking to an existing trip. What is a trip?

Trips provide information about a destination, such as places of interest, maps, itinerary creation and transport options, which help you plan your travel. This is a value-added service that BlackBook provides to anyone who has an account with us

The trips feature is currently exclusive to our mobile app and can be found within the ‘myBlackBook’ section (the website has limited functionality). Anyone with an account on BlackBook can create a trip and plan their travels, even without making a hotel booking.

When you’ve made a booking, you will be asked to add your booking to an existing trip that you’ve been planning or create a new trip.

I will be arriving earlier / later than the stated check-in time, can I still check in?

For early arrivals, most hotels may simply allow you to store your luggage at the front desk until check-in time. In cases where the hotel is able to allow early check in, it will be entirely at the discretion of the hotel. BlackBook can not guarantee the possibility of early check ins as this is not within our control.

For late arrivals, as long as you have a confirmed booking, most hotels should have no problem accommodating you as most front desks are available 24hrs. However, certain hotels may require you to inform them of your late arrival beyond a certain time at night to avoid any issues of late check-in’s.

We recommend that you can contact your hotel directly once you have confirmed your travel booking to keep them up to date of your expected arrival timing.



Is it possible to request for a late check-out time?

Yes, you can make a request for a late check-out. You may do so in the Additional Requirements box during the booking process. Once you have received your booking confirmation, you can follow up with the hotel directly to confirm that your request can be met.

Is it possible to request for an early check-in?

For special requests such as early check-ins, you can enter these in the Additional Requirements box during the booking process. We strongly recommend you to contact the hotel directly to ask about early check-in policies before making your booking. Once you have received your booking confirmation, you can follow up with the hotel directly to confirm that your request can be met.

Can I request for certain special requirements like a pets-allowed room?

Some hotels may have provisions for pets on their premises. This is entirely based on individual hotel policy and at their own discretion. We strongly recommend checking with the hotel directly before making your booking.

Does the hotel provide airport transfer?

Some hotels may provide an airport transfer service or may be able to help arrange for such services. Currently, airport transfers are not included in the price of a room booked through BlackBook.

For special requests such as requesting for airport transfers, you can enter these in the Additional Requirements box during the booking process. Once you have received your booking confirmation, you can follow up with the hotel directly to confirm that your request can be met.

Do I need to present a printed copy of the confirmation email when I arrive at the hotel or is my credit card sufficient?

We recommend having at least a digital copy of your booking confirmation when checking in at the hotel. You will find a PDF copy of your hotel booking attached to your booking confirmation email, you may print this out to have with you when you arrive at the hotel.

Do note that some hotels may require the credit card used for booking as well for verification and/or for the debiting of a deposit upon check in.



I had a disappointing stay at the hotel and would like to provide feedback. How do I do this?

We are sorry to hear that you’ve had a disappointing experience with your stay. Please contact our team and provide your feedback for the hotel.

How do I know if my booking is confirmed?

Once you have completed the booking process, you will be presented with a booking confirmation page with your booking details and reference number. You will also receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete. 

Sometimes it might take some time to process your payment with the hotels. As such, you may only receive a booking pending notification. You should expect to receive a confirmation/update of your booking within 24 hours of making a booking.

My booking status says that it is “pending”, what does that mean?

Sometimes it might take some time to process your payment with the hotels. As such, you may only receive a booking pending notification. You should expect to receive a confirmation/update of your booking within 24 hours of making a booking.

I have booked a hotel but haven’t received a confirmation by email. What should I do?

Sometimes it might take some time to process your payment with the hotels. As such, you may only receive a booking pending notification. You should expect to receive a confirmation/update of your booking within 24 hours of making a booking. 

In some cases, your email provider may have auto filtering features that cause emails from new sources to be directed to you your spam / junk mailbox. Please check your spam / junk mailbox to see if your confirmation has been sent there.
