What is a “no cancellation” room?

Each room has its own cancellation policy; these are set by the hotel/property owner. 

A room with a note that states ‘no cancellation” means in the case that you choose to cancel your booking, no refund will be provided for such cancellation. Additionally, a fee might be charged for such cancellations.  

A room that is not listed as “no cancellation” may provide some form of refund for a cancellation of a booking, subject to the terms and conditions specified by the property. (i.e. a specific date before check-in date)

We highly recommend that you read the cancellation policies of each room before making your booking. BlackBook or the hotel will not be held liable for a booking made without first consulting a property’s room booking policies.

Can I request for an additional bed in my hotel room and will there be an extra fee?

To ensure you have sufficient beds for your stay, we recommend specifying the correct number of rooms and occupants for your stay while searching for your hotel. 

Begin your search on the desktop or app homepage

  1. Enter your desired location
  2. Select your check-in and check-out dates
  3. Select the number of rooms you require for your stay
  4. Enter the number of adults and children for each room
  5. Click the “Submit” button to begin a search
  6. You will arrive at the search listing page

Do note that you may only book up to a maximum of 4 rooms. 

Alternatively, you may request for additional beds in the Additional Requirements box provided during the booking process. We strongly recommend you contact the hotel directly to ask about additional bed policies before making your booking.

How do I specify my room preference? I.e. non-smoking, 1 king bed, high floor?

You may request for such preferences in the Additional Requirements box provided during the booking process. We strongly recommend you contact the hotel directly to ask about any requests to ensure they can be accomodated.

What facilities does my room have?

Hotels provide a general set of amenities across most of their rooms (e.g. Wifi, Air-Conditioning). To search for specific amenities for hotels, you can use our filters to narrow your results. You can find instructions on how to use our filters here.

However, the hotel may provide different facilities for each of their rooms, these may include different bed types, meals included and other provisions. 

To see what each room offers, you can check the details of the rooms to see what is included.

  1. Once you have your search results, you can select a hotel that you might be interested in making a booking. 
  2. Once in the hotel detail screen, you can check out the individual room types to see what amenities are provided.

Can I request for a baby cot in my room and will there be an extra fee?

Yes, you can. You may request for the baby cot in the Additional Requirements box provided during the booking process. We strongly recommend you to contact the hotel directly to ask about baby cot requests before making your booking.

Can I upgrade my room at the last minute via BlackBook?

Currently we do not allow for the upgrade of a room. Once a room is booked, it would have to be cancelled first and then a new booking needs to be made. 

For the time being, you will need to contact our team in order to cancel your booking. Other changes to your booking such as change of dates, room type would require you to cancel your current booking and make a new booking. 

Please do remember to check the property’s cancellation policy before cancellation. Some hotels may offer you a refund before a certain cut-off date / time. Making a cancellation after such a date / time will result in no refund being offered.

Can I add rooms to my reservation?

Our system allows you to add rooms to your reservation before making payment and receiving a confirmation for your booking. 

However, once you have completed the booking process – having paid and received a confirmation on your booking – you will need to either:

  • book the additional rooms separately, or
  • cancel your current reservation and book it again with the total number of rooms you require.

For the time being, you will need to contact our team in order to cancel your booking. Other changes to your booking such as change of dates, room type would require you to cancel your current booking and make a new booking.

Can the hotel store my luggage before I check-in and after I check-out?

Most hotels should be able to handle such a request for storing your luggage on their premises. 

We strongly recommend you to contact the hotel directly to ask about this before making your booking.

How many people can stay in a room? How do I ensure I have space for my child when booking a room?

The hotels featured on our service have varying room occupancies for their rooms. In general, each room requires a minimum of 1 adult and up to 2 adults and 2 children per room OR 4 adults (depending on the hotel). 

To ensure you are able to book a hotel/room with the occupancy that you require, you can specify the number of rooms and number of occupants before you begin a search.

  1. Using the entry fields provided at the homepage/search results, enter your desired destination and check-in and check-out dates.
  2. You can then enter the number of rooms you required
  3. You can also enter the number of adults and children for each rooms
  4. Once you have entered this information, you can begin your search and our service will return hotel/room results that have occupancy that match your requirements.

Is breakfast included in the room price?

Some hotels may include breakfast with a room price, this will appear in the details of a particular room. 

When looking at the different room packages of a particular hotel, each room will either specify that it is 'room only' or will list a meal like 'breakfast' that is included.

I would like to make a special request (e.g. non-smoking room, high floor, connecting rooms), how do I let the hotel know about this?

For special requests, you can enter these in the Additional Requirements box during the booking process. Once you have received your booking confirmation, you can follow up with the hotel directly to confirm that your request can be met.

What is the maximum number of rooms I can book in a single hotel?

The maximum number of rooms that can be booked at once is 4. 

This is due to a requirement from our hotel suppliers that prevents group bookings from being made via our service.



How can I find out more about hotel and room facilities?

You can find out more about your hotel by looking at its hotel detail page. Here you can find more information such as each room’s bed type, facilities and relevant hotel facilities.

Where can I find the hotel’s contact information?

For hotels that you have booked through BlackBook, you will find the hotel’s contact information in your booking confirmation email. 

For hotels that you may be interested in booking, you may contact them directly via their website, their official email or telephone number.



Do I need to present a printed copy of the confirmation email when I arrive at the hotel or is my credit card sufficient?

We recommend having at least a digital copy of your booking confirmation when checking in at the hotel. You will find a PDF copy of your hotel booking attached to your booking confirmation email, you may print this out to have with you when you arrive at the hotel.

Do note that some hotels may require the credit card used for booking as well for verification and/or for the debiting of a deposit upon check in.
