Credit Cards

Can I make a booking without a credit card?

Unfortunately for bookings made on BlackBook, you will need a valid credit card in order for us to process your booking.

We are continually looking for better ways to allow our customers to pay with different methods, so do check back on our website for updates.

Which credit cards can I use to complete my booking?

We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, JCB and American Express cards.

Rest assured our team is working to accept more payment methods to make your travel experience as easy as possible

Are my credit card details safe?

BlackBook currently uses Stripe as our payment gateway partner.

Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL) and regularly audit their security measures in order to maintain their security certification. Stripe also encrypts all card numbers on disk with AES-256.

To find out more about Stripe's security measures, read more here.

Can I use another person’s credit card for making a booking?

Yes, you can. However, we do prefer that the person making the booking is the owner of the credit card being used, this is for accountability and security reasons.

You may request to use another person (e.g. a spouse’s) credit card, but you must receive expressed permission from such a person before making payment with their card. BlackBook will not be held responsible for any unauthorized charges due to the usage of another person’s card without expressed permission; by using another person’s card, you agree to bear sole responsibility for its use.

In addition, some hotels would require you to present the same credit card used to make the booking upon check-in at the property for verification and sometimes to place a holding charge for the stay. Hence, it is strongly recommended that the person traveling is also the holder of the credit card used to make the booking.

My credit card will be expiring soon, may I still use that credit card to make a booking?

Yes, you can. However, we would strongly recommend that you use a credit card which has a validity of at least 6 months from the date of your check-in.

This is to ensure that in the case where you may decide to cancel your booking, any refund (where available) can be credited back to the credit card used to pay for the booking.

In addition, some hotels would require you to present the same credit used to make the booking upon check-in at the property for verification and sometimes to place a holding charge for the stay, hence you will need a valid credit card.

I've entered my credit card details, when will my card be charged?

You will usually be charged within 24 hours of making payment for a booking on BlackBook.

Sometimes it might take some time to process your payment with our hotel or travel partners. As such, you may only receive a booking in progress notification. You should expect to receive a confirmation of your booking within 24 hours of making a booking.

If you do not receive such a confirmation, please contact us for assistance.

I've lost my credit card / my credit card has expired - can I still convert my BB coins to cash?

To convert your BB coins to cash, you will need to have a valid credit card that you've used for bookings with us on file. (You will also need to have verified your email with us)

In the case where your credit card on file has expired, or that you no longer have access to your credit card on file, you will not be able to convert your BB coins to cash.

You will however be able to do so after you next complete a booking on BlackBook Travels with a new and valid credit card.
If you have more questions, please contact our team for further assistance.
