At the end of the 18th century the house was known under the name Einkehrgasthof zum Goldenen Jägerhorn? (The golden hunter's horn Inn). Franz Grillparzer was known to spend a lot of time there. Between 1913 and 1919, it was a popular meeting place for well-known authors, like Peter Altenberg, Franz Kafka and Max Brod. In 1927, the Graben Hotel was purchased by the Kremslehner Family.
