Luxury Villa Excelsior Parco, Via Provinciale Marina Grande 179, Capri, Italy
Deluxe Class Historical Hotel. (exterior) The Hotel Excelsior Parco, built in 1906 in true Liberty style, returns to all its past splendor thanks to a superbly managed restoration project. Once more, guests are able to enjoy that enchanting atmosphere which, at the start of the last century, made the hotel the much sought after destination of intellectuals, writers, artists and all those looking for an exclusive hideaway. (lobby) The Lobby is medium in size and decorated in a bright white colour. (general) Two thousand years ago, on the site of today's Excelsior Parco, there was a Roman villa, as is testified by the ancient column in Egyptian alabaster which now stands at the entrance of the hotel. The other columns are displayed in Naples' Archeological museum. In 1906 the present day villa was constructed according to the principals of the Liberty style, which were in vogue at the time, with the addition of a few details typical of Capri's architectural tradition. The villa became the haven of artists and intellectuals seeking refuge on the island of Capri. In 2006 a complete restoration and renovation of the edifice transformed the villa into a 4 star boutique luxury hotel, in which to experience the traditional hospitality of Capri's most elegant villas.
