The nearest public transport stop is about 1 km from the hotel.Built in 1472, the hotel comprises a total of 20 suites spread over 2 floors. The hotel includes a reception and a bar. The most sought after part of Heidelberg is ancient Neuenheim, since everybody prefers to live here. Within this stylish very quiet living area the Hirschgasse (stag mews) is located, where old Villas define the select residential character.There is only little residents traffic from the people who live here, so if peacefulness is an argument it certainly can be fulfilled. Bear in mind that the very busy street noise from through traffic from the Neuenheimer Landstrasse along the River Neckar Embankment cannot be heard here. Clearly to be heard are the birds tweeting their songs in a city. Big city customers tell us, that they are not accustomed to this anymore and are pleasantly surprised. The Hirschgasse is located in a peaceful little side valley just opposite the Heidelberg castle, on the northern side of the river Neckar. In this select residential area also the World famous Philosophers Walk offer panoramic views all over Heidelberg and the Rhine plane. The ascent to it starts right by our house and is moreover a fantastic runners pardise-part of the track is every year also included in the Heidelberg Marathon. If one likes it more flat, the heart of the Old town is seducing with an 8-minute walk along the River Neckar, then crossing the Old Bridge, with the Heidelberg Castle always dominantly in view. William Turner, one of the most important Bristish painters,was fascinated by the view of the Heidelberg Castle and therefore painted it from the Hirschgasse. We forgot to ask him to paint the Hirschgasse. The whole Hirschgasse was embedded in the old times fully in the woods of the Holy Mountain-house mountain of the Hirschgasse.Nice Villas have been added since then, but it still boasts with its nearness to nature and an historic vineyard with a fantastic view onto the Heidelberg castle called Sunnyside upon the bridge. A great Riesling and Pinot Noir are produced here and exclusively offered to hotel guests of the Hirschgasse.
